Monthly Meeting Minutes

We wanted to update you based on our last monthly meeting.

INTERNET SERVICE
Regarding internet service, we have concerns that people would have to break their current internet/cable contracts at their expense to benefit from community internet access. With residents moving in all the time, it would be difficult to time this so that no one would be affected or have to "double pay." Also, typically the benefit of community internet is usually planned into the infrastructure of the community from the outset. Installation in our community at this point would be much more difficult and costly. In light of these things, we will not be pursuing community internet at this time. If any other homeowners would like to look into this further we haven't ruled it out, but we are also concerned that if internet or cable access were less than promised that as an HOA we might spend all of our time dealing with internet and cable concerns which are not of paramount importance to the health, safety and welfare of the neighborhood.

REMINDERS!
-Please remember that all resident cars need to be parked in the homeowners garage. Guest parking is for guests.
-Work trucks are not to be parked in guest parking.
-Please keep your garbage cans out of sight (in garages or backyards not visible to the street).
-Dogs should not be roaming the neighborhood unattended. Please attend your dogs and have them on a leash.
-Although the CCRs say lights should be down by Jan 15, we will send a reminder that they should be down by March 15. That should be enough time that the weather will be good enough that it is safe to get on the roof and remove lights without safety hazards.

TALK WITH YOUR NEIGHBORS
We are happy to help as much as we can to keep peace in our neighborhoods and address concerns. However, we encourage you to first talk with your neighbors in a kind way about concerns you may have (ie parking, noisy dog, etc.). If they are not responsive then we are happy to step in, but please try to talk to your neighbors and work things out with them first as much as possible.

CEMENT DRIVEWAYS
We have been talking with Richmond American Homes about replacing the cement driveways. Hopefully we are making headway, but it has been slow getting information. If you have received a letter from Richmond American Homes saying they would replace your driveway, we would love to know (has anyone's driveway been replaced as promised?). Please email us at monarchmeadows@yahoogroups.com. We will keep you up to date as we obtain more information from Richmond American Homes.

This is a portion of what we discussed in our last meeting. We spent the majority of the meeting addressing resident concerns. We have sent out letters and citations as we felt appropriate and consistent with residents concerns and warnings that have already been given. As we said, we are happy to help as needed, but we also really appreciate when the homeowners approach their neighbors respectfully with their conerns and work these things out on their own. We are glad to live in a neighborhood with many great residents and friends.

More updates to come.

Community Internet Service

We have had some express interest in pursuing the option of installing community internet service so we could get a discounted group rate. There would obviously be an installation fee up front we would have to budget for, which would likely result in a temporary increase of HOA to build up savings to pay for installation, and a permanent increase to cover the cost of community internet service, which obviously we would only do if the individual homeowner internet savings would make up for it.

We'd love input from you as members of the community to know if this is something there is interest for and worth pursuing further. Let us know what you think!
